There are days I just want to\u00a0cry out the name of Jesus over my city. HE IS WHO HE SAYS HE IS. His followers, in those early days of the church, knew Him. After He returned to the Father in Heaven, these followers were transformed by the power of God’s Spirit burning inside of them. Their boldness and earnestness gave witness to that. They put their lives on the line for the truth of who Jesus was…is. Read and resonate with just one of the accounts from the Bible, in the Acts of the Apostles:<\/p>\n

Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer…and a certain man lame from his mother\u2019s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple;\u00a0<\/span>who, <\/span>seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms.\u00a0<\/span> And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, \u201cLook at us.\u201d\u00a0<\/span> So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.\u00a0<\/span> Then Peter said, \u201cSilver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.<\/strong>\u201d\u00a0<\/span>And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.\u00a0<\/span> So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them\u2014walking, leaping, and praising God.\u00a0<\/span> And all the people saw him walking and praising God.\u00a0<\/span> Then they knew that it was he who sat begging alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cBy what power or by what name have you done this?\u201d <\/em>[Peter was asked\u00a0by the religious authorities\u00a0present that day in Jerusalem]<\/p>\n

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, \u201cRulers of the people and elders of Israel:\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/sup>If we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless man, by what means he has been made well,\u00a0<\/span> let it be known to you all…that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole.\u00a0<\/span> This is the \u2018stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.\u2019 <\/span><\/span>Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name<\/strong> under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.\u201d<\/span> <\/em>– Acts 3:1-10; Acts 4:7-12<\/p>\n

There is no one like Him. He is the picture God gave us of Himself…His very Word.\u00a0He came close to us that we might know God…<\/p>\n
